As the author of Jealous Jitzey, I want to welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest in my book. I consider it a sincere privilege and honor that you have taken the time to learn more about Jitzey.
Not only am I the author of Jealous Jitzey, I am also a licensed mental health therapist, and devoted wife and mother. One of my greatest passions is nurturing the hearts and minds of children. By blending professional insight and spiritual guidance, my desire is to write fun stories that help children grow emotionally strong and spiritually rooted.
Drawing on my experience in counseling and parenting, I want to create stories that speak to the real-life feelings and questions children face—always pointing them back to God’s truth, love, and grace. My hope is that my stories become gentle tools for families, designed to spark meaningful conversations and deepen a child’s understanding of their identity in Christ.
When I am not writing or in session, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, playing at the beach, cooking and serving in the community. Whether at home, at work, or through my writing, my mission in life is simple: to help people of all ages know they are seen, loved, and never alone — no matter what they face.
Many have asked me what inspired the story and if I have always dreamed of writing children’s books. I wish I can say that it has always been my dream. However, writing a book was never part of my plan and I never could have imagined being here. In fact, I don’t mind sharing with you all that reading my book in front of large crowds is completely outside of my comfort zone. Just like Jitzey, I am overcoming my fears for a new adventure.
To the shock of many, Jealous Jitzey came to me fully in a dream. I know that sounds crazy. As a therapist, I typically do not put much stock in dreams, as most of mine are complete nonsense. However, one night in 2020, I dreamed that I was sitting in a classroom reading a book that I wrote to several children. I woke up and remembered every detail. After sharing my dream with my husband, he encouraged me to write it down immediately. And so, Jealous Jitzey was born. Unfortunately, the craziness of life kept us from starting the long process of publishing. For a while, it seemed that I would never be able share Jitzey with the world. After having my daughter in 2023 and reading to her nightly, I began to feel the need to finally publish Jitzey; so I can share her with my daughter and with other children. I felt this urge to make my dream come true. I felt in my heart that like Jitzey, the book had a purpose.
Now after 5 years, the process is complete and Jealous Jitzey can truly begin to fulfill her purpose of helping children get out of the web of comparison and discover their value in this world. My hope is that all children who hear the story of Jitzey come to understand Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
